Dave and I met in Hong Kong when we were part of the Great Britain Dragon Boat Racing Team, and it was our passion for the sport that brought us together. It took us many years to finally get our act together, but it was worth the wait when Dave popped the question on Exmouth Beach in January 2023. We both grew up living by the sea and have always loved Exmouth, so when we were looking for a venue for our wedding, Ocean was the perfect choice. With stunning coastal views from the picture windows and open decks. The Events Team couldn’t have done any more to make our wedding day run any better, from planning food, drink and table plan layout, to making sure everything was delivered perfectly on the day. Despite the weather preventing the ceremony taking place on the outside deck, the team pulled out all the stops to get everything set up inside at the last minute and create the perfect setting. Walking down the aisle with the view of Exmouth seafront ahead of me was so magical, even if it was blowing a hoolie out there

I was a day early to catch my flight to go on a Summer cruise back in 2016, Charles’s friend changed their cruise dates last minute and so by chance we all ended up on the cruise ship Oceania. After a chance meeting on the dance floor in the cheesy là Club we sort each other out every day and night and by pure luck we ended up at one another’s dinner tables followed by many a night of drinking wine and watching the sun come up. When the cruise ended Charles went home to Exmouth and I went home to Yorkshire, we formed a relationship long distance and once I saw Exmouth, I knew I needed to return to the sea. So, we bought a house, we had a little girl, he proposed and after a long lockdown he convinced me not to elope on a cruise, so we decided to throw a big wedding bash. I’d been to the Ocean suite doing yoga & fell in love with the venue, Charles had one look and instantly agreed, picturesque views, soft play for the kids, great food, we didn’t need to look further.

Lovely spot

Attended a wedding here. lovely spot with the wedding held on an open air terrace with great view of the sea. Large main room with a stage and another open air terrace on the other side of the main room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bar prices were not over the top either. Great venue, we would recommend it to anyone.

Superb

Visited recently to celebrate a wedding. The venue is superb, great setting, food was great. My only complaint was the DJ was pretty poor. Good music but no effort to get people dancing. Bar and waiting staff very good though.

Stunning views

Went here for a cheeky bite to eat after a few hours cooking on the beach. And my god what a place…. stunning views, stunning fish and chips and the best thing of all was the service! Quick, efficient and comical. Selina who served us came over with a cheeky smile and asked how we were! After replying with my humorous answer selina followed on the conversation and kept it flowing just like the drinks. Excellent…. brilliant…. Will be back…

Beautifully presented tables in the Deck

We were sat across two beautifully presented tables in the Deck restaurant, with lovely tasteful christmas decorations and atmosphere. The food itself was tasty, good portion sizes and came out in a timely manner. Staff were quick to respond to our requests and were able to accommodate various dietary needs. Thank you Ocean for a great experience!

Bar staff were lovely

On Saturday I was a wedding guest at a reception and evening do held at Ocean. It all looked lovely and the Devon afternoon tea was lovely followed by a buffet in the evening. Really enjoyed it. Loved the prawn fish cakes. Bar staff were lovely and even phoned me a taxi, when I asked at the end of the evening. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you.

The food was extremely tasty

On a beautiful sunny day the views over the bay were just amazing and guests could sit in comfort and soak up the atmosphere from the private balcony. The food was extremely tasty, well presented and the overall dining experience was first class. This new function suite has been developed and built to a very high standard and is a very prestigious venue for weddings and special occasions.

Attended a wedding here on Friday night, really lovely venue overlooking the beach. Staff excellent, bar prices good.

We had our wedding party at Ocean in Exmouth last night. it is a fantastic venue such an amazing space both inside and outside with the wonderful views of the beach front. The interior is beautiful and really stylish too. The whole evening was run professionally and efficiently with extras attention to detail too. This made us feel special and our guests were really looked after so well.

First class

We have recently held our evening reception for our wedding at the upstairs function suite at Ocean. We had some misgivings beforehand as each time we tried to finalise arrangements the member of staff dealing with it had left the company. However…… Not only is it the best venue for a large party probably in Devon, the service and attention to detail was absolutely first class.

We got married last Saturday in Ocean using the top deck Ocean suite in the open air for our ceremony. This area has an amazing view of the sea. We were able to personalise and decorate the pergola under which the civil ceremony took place. The team were meticulous in their help to ensure our day was perfect from timings, music cues throughout the ceremony, ensuring that the guests were directed to their seats and reception and for providing lots of reassurance to myself and my husband both before and after the ceremony.

The staff were really helpful

Well organised for our large group booking of 100 people. The staff were really helpful, they were very welcoming when I had my first meeting to book our 3 events. They were accommodating to meet the needs of our requirements. They communicated well both face to face and via email and were generally well organised. The food was good value for money and the families we provided the events for gave good reviews about their experience of using Ocean.

The staff were amazing

We recently had my daughters wedding here and we really enjoyed the atmosphere of the venue we had a sit down meal which was enjoyable. The staff were amazing the team really worked well together and were very good in meeting our needs even though it was busy. We are very thankful to the manager and team who looked after us all day. We would definitely recommend this venue for a family celebration

Staff are exceptional!

Took my family to ocean for something to eat and try out the play area, I must say what a spectacular place was shocked and the amount of eateries and other facilities there are, the over all running of the place from food cleanliness and staff are exceptional went above and beyond to make are time there faultless !! We will definitely be going there on a regular bases, well done on the running of the place

Fantastic!

We booked Ocean for a friend’s hen do and it exceeded all expectations. They went absolutely above and beyond to make the event special, were so accommodating and professional. The cream teas were superb. The location and views fantastic, the staff helpful polite and friendly. It was just fantastic and with a huge group of about 35 people, this can’t have been easy but they did a brilliant job and everything ran seamlessly.

Thank you all at Ocean for our fabulous wedding reception we had a brilliant time. 5 star all the way!
